"I always had an idea of getting my college education abroad. Somehow, I ended up in SVC all the way from Turkey. That could be nothing else but destiny. I gained real friends, which are the reason that I am at SVC. Going to college abroad taught me a lot of things, but the most beautiful thing I learned is to be grateful all the time. Bad things happen in our life and it happens for a reason. We learn from those bad memories. My small advice to SVC students is that they should not get upset about small things. They have their family, friends and enough money to go to college here."

"I never wanted to go to a small school; I had always pictured myself at a big school in the city. I had decided pretty early on that I wanted to go to Pitt, but then the day I was about to submit my deposit, something made me hold off and take a second look at Saint Vincent. I couldn't be happier that I did.
Two things that really stick out for me are the class sizes that allow you to interact with your professors and just the overall family feeling that the entire community has. There's just so many great people here. By coming to Saint Vincent, I know that I've made the right choice and have made friends that will last a lifetime."

"It's bittersweet to know we are the last of our siblings to be at Saint Vincent. We came here the same year as "freshmen" -- student and monk. Saint Vincent is our home. It is where our family has grown up together, and where we have found extended family. We owe it all to God and are grateful that we get to experience this time in our lives together at such a special place."

“As a former Steeler, there is a lot of pressure at training camp. Coach Chuck Noll was known for his intense camps – it was hard – and we often practiced twice a day. However, everyone from the maintenance staff and those who serve the meals (just everyone) are the most gracious and hospitable people. They treat me better than I deserve. Saint Vincent exudes faith, family and football; you see the love of Christ. It’s great seeing all the monks and my friends. I love coming here.”

“Training Camp at Saint Vincent reminds me of being back in college and living in a dorm room. I’m from a small town so being here also reminds me of home. There are great people all around campus including the helpers and staff who are nice, polite and take care of you — it makes camp a lot easier. It’s a great place to be and to walk around and clear your mind.”

"Until I started playing rugby, I never legitimately realized I could do anything if I put my mind to it. I was hesitant to join the team, simply because I had a difficult time convincing myself that I was capable of partaking in such a physically and mentally demanding sport. Eventually, I mustered up enough courage to go to a practice, and ever since then, I never looked back. I have not only learned the skills that it takes to be a successful player, but the sport has supplied me with empowerment, confidence and discipline. My team is the most powerful group of girls I know, and I know I have found lifelong friends in them all. I can confidently say I am the happiest I've ever been, and I know my teammates, coaches and the sport itself has helped me achieve that, along with all of the other wonderful people I've met here.”
