A Holiday Abroad? No Hay Bronca

Posted by Michael Orange on Thu, Dec 12, 2013 @ 09:42 AM

"Hay una manera diferente para aprender español." La Universal's slogan, 'There is a different way to learn Spanish,' is the principle philosophy behind opening the eyes of students eager to develop new language skills. My name is Mickey Orange, and I am currently a sophomore biology major at Saint Vincent College. For the winter break of 2013-2014, I am going to embark on a one month adventure into México, where I will live with a host family and continue my Spanish education at Cuernavaca's Center for Language and Social Communication, La Universal.

As a biology major, it has been difficult to work around scheduling issues between the sciences and the language department for the past three semesters. However, last semester, a Saint Vincent professor introduced me to a program provided in México where a host family and a language school are 100% committed to providing language classes tailored to anyone's specific needs. I immediately took advantage of the opportunity, given that it's going to help complete most of my credits as a spanish minor, and signed up to travel to Cuernavaca this holiday break.

Now that finals week at Saint Vincent College is finally finished, I am eager to discover a different culture and experience a taste of every day life in Mexico's Ciudad De La Eterna Primavera (City of Eternal Spring). Buenas noches and keep looking back for updates on the blog!
