Saint Vincent College is a welcoming environment, sharing the core values of the Benedictine tradition, especially hospitality, community, love, prayer and respect for the dignity of all.
Founded in 1848 by Boniface Wimmer, a monk from Bavaria, we are the first Benedictine college in the United States. Operational Excellence (OE) is a management philosophy focused on continuous improvement, problem solving and waste reductions. Unfortunately, when many organizations attempt to engage related initiatives, they are not completely successful. One reason for this is that they do not focus enough on their organizational culture, the social environment of the workplace that establishes accepted norms and influences expected employee behavior. Only by paying attention to three levels of culture (assumptions, values and artifacts) together, can organizations be more successful in their path toward OE. This session is an example overview of what courses in the Master of Science in Management: Operational Excellence (MSMOE) program at Saint Vincent College focus on.
