“For as long as I can remember, music has always been one of the biggest aspects of my life. I started singing when I was 8 years old, and I just never stopped. I pursued music throughout middle and high school through multiple bands and theatre groups. It was very important that I pursued these same groups when I began my journey here at SVC. I had no idea within the first two weeks of my freshman year of college that I would meet a group such as The Company. A group full of creative, wonderful, talented and hilarious people. I found a place where I could be myself without fear of judgment. A place where I can become someone I’m not while still being myself. I never would have pictured myself adding a vocal performance minor at the beginning of my second semester. I have The Company, as well as the whole Saint Vincent music program, for helping me find my voice.”

"As I lay in bed those many nights and anticipated what Saint Vincent would have in store for me, I don’t think I would have ever imagined that I would find myself sitting in the back of a lecture hall every single Sunday night for seven semesters. I had been on the student council in high school, so the idea of SGA appealed to me. However, I did not realize the significant impact it would have on my college experience. SGA has given me something more than I could have ever imagined. This organization taught me how to voice my opinion confidently. It taught me how to make changes. It taught me how to be a strong leader. And it taught me how wonderful this school truly is."

"We met at the start of second semester freshman year and lived in Pod 4F together. Payton transferred to SVC from another university and it was best friends at first sight. Gianna had instantly called her friends and told them to come meet us. From that day, our friendship grew into something we will cherish for a lifetime. During the fall of 2018, we will be studying abroad in various countries in Europe, as well as pursuing the same major. We are grateful for Saint Vincent and all the memories that have come along with our time here!"

"I always had an idea of getting my college education abroad. Somehow, I ended up in SVC all the way from Turkey. That could be nothing else but destiny. I gained real friends, which are the reason that I am at SVC. Going to college abroad taught me a lot of things, but the most beautiful thing I learned is to be grateful all the time. Bad things happen in our life and it happens for a reason. We learn from those bad memories. My small advice to SVC students is that they should not get upset about small things. They have their family, friends and enough money to go to college here."

“As a little girl, I would attend Steelers Training Camp every summer with my family. It became a family tradition that I looked forward to as July transitioned to August. My family would ask me if I could see myself attending Saint Vincent College to pursue an education someday, and I had not given it much thought until it was time to make a game-time decision. I have always been a city girl at heart, but visited a number of large state institutions and smaller private colleges. The last school I decided to visit was Saint Vincent, and I knew in my heart that the search for a school was over. Well, that ‘someday’ turned into today, where I have never questioned that game-time decision. If somebody had told that little girl that she would attend Saint Vincent when she grew up, she probably would not have believed it ... and now she could not be happier to be a Bearcat.”

“I have three passions in life; spikeball, Walt Disney World and making people smile! What I love about Saint Vincent is that it has helped me grow these passions on a day-to-day basis. I never heard of spikeball until I came here; I am now the club president and host tournaments every semester! My dream job is to work for Walt Disney World on their PR team. SVC has set me on the right path to make my dream a reality. I love putting a smile on every person’s face that I talk to. It makes me feel better about myself when I can make others smile. Thanks SVC for making it easy for me!”

”What are your possibilities once you become part of the Saint Vincent College family? I began my SVC career 12 years ago part-time in the Welcome Booth on the 3-11 p.m. shift, then I became full-time in the Facilities Management Office. From there I went to the Registrar’s office as a secretary and finally for the last five years, I have been the administrative assistant to the dean of the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing. I love the community of Saint Vincent College; being that I have worked in several different areas, I have made a lot of friendships throughout the college. My daughters have grown up coming to SVC events and all three started their college education at SVC their senior year of high school. I like to say: You can go anywhere from Saint Vincent College.”

“Saint Vincent College is much more than just a place to further my education; it is my second home. When I was six months old, I attended a day care held on campus. During middle school and high school, I volunteered at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve, Campus Ministry and the Admission Office. Also, during high school, I was a pre-college student at Saint Vincent. I was enrolled in core classes as a junior and senior in high school. You can say I grew up with Saint Vincent; it is in my blood. As a result, it was a natural choice to attend Saint Vincent upon graduation from high school. Saint Vincent is truly an institution I love.”
